2015 Iowa Partners in Efficiency Award Recipient

The Iowa Partner's in Efficiency (IPE) award is an annual award given by the Iowa Lean Consortium that acknowledges the achievements of particular benefit to the citizens of Iowa and the private sector, recognizing public sector employees and teams that significantly and measurably increase productivity and promote innovation to improve the delivery of public services and save money for Iowa taxpayers and businesses.

The 2015 IPE was awarded to Iowa Rehabilitation Services System Dream Team for a project that focused on the development of an efficient paperless process to pay medical billings. Social Security Administration’s Iowa Disability Determination Services (SSA/DDS), was moving to a paperless process and the team needed to develop a process to obtain the requirements the State of Iowa needs for the payment of invoices such as original signatures and acquire a paperless system through the whole process.

This project resulted in a cost savings of more than 100,000 annually, labor efficiency, quality improvements and increased customer satisfaction.
