Preliminary Public Hearing for the Protest of the City of Mount Union's FY 2016-2017 Budget

A petition protesting the FY 2016-2017 city budget for the City of Mount Union has been filed with the State Appeal Board.  A preliminary public hearing on this budget protest will be held at the Community Building, 209 East Lehew, in Mount Union on May 9th, 2016 at 11:00 am.  This will be strictly a fact-finding session, where representatives from the offices of the Auditor of State, Department of Management, and Treasurer of State will gather information and arguments from the protesting citizens and the city officials.  No decision on the budget protest will be made on May 9th.  A decision on the budget protest will be made at a future meeting of the State Appeal Board in Des Moines.
